The next COVID-19 vaccine is available for anyone aged 18 and over.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group (ATAGI) recommends the following groups get their next dose if their last COVID-19 vaccine dose or confirmed infection (whichever is the most recent) was 6 months ago or longer, and regardless of the number of prior doses received:
- All adults aged 65 years and over
- Adults aged 18-64 years who have medical illnesses that increase their risk of severe COVID-19, or disability with significant or complex health needs.
ATAGI has advised that people aged 18 to 64 years old and children 5 to 17 years who are immunocompromised can consider another dose if they choose.
ATAGI does not recommend children under the age of 18 have the next dose if they do not have any risk factors for severe COVID-19.
COVID-19 vaccinations can be booked with participating GPs, pharmacies, and Aboriginal Medical Services. The vaccine is free but providers may charge a service fee.
